Charlie Sheen dentist office incident: No knife pulled, publicist says

Los Angeles police are looking into reports that actor Charlie Sheen was involved in a scuffle with a dental assistant last week.

Few details have been released about the incident, which allegedly occurred Sept. 25 at an unidentified dentist’s office, LAPD Officer Chris No said.

Sheen and the dental assistant reportedly got into an argument and then a tussle, No said.

Police plan to interview Sheen, his bodyguard and employees at the dentist’s office to sort out what happened, No added.

Los Angeles police could not immediately confirm reports, initially carried by TMZ, that Sheen, who now stars in the FX show “Anger Management,” was under the influence of drugs and pulled a knife on the assistant.

Sheen’s publicist, Jeff Ballard, denied the allegations, saying the story was completely fabricated to make headlines. Nitrous oxide administered to the actor during a procedure reacted negatively with medication Sheen was taking to treat a shoulder injury he sustained while filming the 1989 film “Major League,” Ballard said.

Sheen, he added, never pulled a knife.

“Charlie is newsworthy,” he said.

The latest police investigation is one of several involving Sheen over the years.

In 2009, he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, in Aspen, Colo. The pair had a tumultous relationship that ended in their 2011 divorce and was followed by a lengthy legal battle over custody of their twin sons.

Sheen’s tirades have also famously grabbed headlines.

He publicly criticized his former boss, Chuck Lorre, calling him “a clown” and a “little maggot” when he was fired from the CBS show “Two and a Half Men.”

Then in May, Sheen went off on pop star Rihanna on Twitter for declining to meet his fiancee.
